It not only is the largest city of Sri Lanka but also boasts one of the largest harbours in the world. This is a very lively and a happening place and is a paradise for shoppers. This lively city welcomes you with a smile and keeps you smiling all the way.

Day 04 ANURADHAPURA

AM After an early breakfast visit the lit-up city of Anuradhapura which is an ancient capital whose splendours lasted for more than 1400 years. Sri Maha Bodhi (the Sacred Bo-Tree) claims to be the oldest documented tree in the world. Visit the Loha Prasada (Brazen Palace), Ruwanweli Seya Dagoba: this dagoba is among the more impressive of Anuradhapura’s monuments if only because of its huge size. Thuparama Vatadage; this shrine, immediately to the north of the Ruwanweli Seya, is the oldest in Sri Lanka and contains the collarbone of the Buddha, Royal Palace; the ruins date from the 12th century AD.

Day 05 ANURADHAPURA/POLONNARUWA/SIGIRIYA
AM Leave for Sigiriya for one night en route visit Polonaruwa;Sri Lanka‘s medieval capital (11-12th Century AD) is a well-preserved city of ancient dagobas, moonstones, beautiful parks, massive buildings and stunningly beautiful statues. The majestic King’s Council Chamber, the Lotus Bath, the Lanka Thilaka Viharaya, the Gal Viharaya (rock temple) and the statue of one of Polonnaruwa’s great kings, Parakramabahu, are a few of this capital’s memorable sights. The Sea of Parakrama – a vast 12th century man-made reservoir dominates the city. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 06 SIGIRIYA/KANDY

AM Morning visit to the famous and spectacular Sigiriya Rock. Sigiriya often called the 8th Wonder of the World, the Complex consists of the central rock, rising 200 meters above the surrounding plain, and the two rectangular precincts on the east (90 hectares) and the west (40 hectares), surrounded by two moats and three ramparts. The famous murals would have covered most of the western face of the rock, covering an area 140 meters long and 40 meters high. There are references in the Graffiti to 500 ladies in these paintings.
PM Proceed to Kandy for two nights visiting spice gardens in Matale en route.

AM Visit the Peradeniya Botanic Garden. No visit to Kandy is complete without seeing the Royal Botanical Gardens. The garden consists of nearly 150 acres dedicated to the flora of Sri Lanka.
PM Kandy; the last royal capital of Sri Lanka is a major tourist destination. Famous for the Temple of the Tooth and called the cultural capital of the island, this bustling market town is rich in cultural diversity and has plenty of itineraries to offer tourists from folk dances and handicrafts to ancient temples and adventure activities.Overnight stay at Hotel Topaz
